Procell™ Microchanneling uses microfilaments to penetrate upper layers of skin, creating hundreds of thousands of microchannels that stimulate your body’s natural healing process, encouraging cell turnover and collagen production. The result is thicker, firmer, more resilient skin over time.
For more information visit the procelltherapies.com website.
Procell™ Microchanneling’s microfilaments enter the skin straight-on, delivering even results. Other micro-needling devices often enter the skin at an angle and at uneven depths, which can cause chronic inflammation and even scarring.
You can enjoy the following benefits from ProCell Microchanneling in as little as one treatment:
- Lifts and tightens facial tissues
- Evens skin tone
- Reduces visible pore size
Procell™ Microchanneling can treat the following skin concerns:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Acne scars
- Sun damage
- Discoloration
- Loose skin
Procell™ Microchanneling can also treat:
- Stretch marks on the abdomen
- Sagging skin on the arms (“bat wings”)
- Encourage hair re-growth
Most of our patients see results immediately after just one treatment. Your results will improve during the weeks following your treatment as your skin continues to produce new collagen and elastin.
For patients with mild skincare concerns, 1-2 treatments may be sufficient. For deeper wrinkles and scarring, we recommend 4-6 treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart. We recommend most patients undergo multiple Microchanneling sessions because treatments will improve the surface texture and overall appearance of your skin over time.
Procell™ Microchanneling is not right for everyone. If you have an underlying condition that impairs your immune system, you may not be a good candidate for this skin care service. Certain medical treatments and treatment histories may also disqualify you from getting Procell™.
You may need to avoid Procell™ if you have:
- Uncontrolled diabetes
- Chronic inflammatory skin disease
- Bleeding disorders
- Active radiation or chemotherapy treatments
- Stainless steel allergies
You should not do this treatment if you have been on Accutane within the past two years. It’s also discouraged for women who are currently pregnant or nursing.
The idea of microchanneling certainly sounds intimidating. But in reality, the treatment causes minimal discomfort. Many patients report feeling no noticeable pain. Often, that is due to the numbing cream that can be applied before the start of any Procell™ appointment.
Another perk is that Procell™ causes no lingering discomfort. Instead, it may leave the skin with a tight sensation. This effect is temporary and will subside after your treatment session.
- If you get cold sores regularly, taking acyclovir or valcyclovir starting one day prior to your microchanneling will reduce the likelihood of a breakout due to your treatment.
- Discontinue retinol (2% or higher) or tretinoin at least 3 days prior to treatment.
- For your first treatment, you can expect mild redness and swelling, and a tight, warm sensation for between 4 & 24 hours.
- Later treatments with longer needle lengths may require topical numbing cream, and can produce redness and swelling along with tiny flecks of redness for between 4 & 72 hours.
- If your liver, kidneys and immune system are healthy, taking an NSAID such as Ibuprofen 2 hours before treatment may reduce any discomfort.
- If possible, please arrive at the office without makeup on, and with a clean (and for men a clean shaven) face. Please arrive 20 minutes in advance of your appointment in order to receive numbing cream.
- If you’ve had Botox, Fillers or Threads injected you must wait at least two weeks before getting microchanneling. And you must be satisfied with the results before we can offer you any other treatments.
A microneedling treatment with Procell™ is a simple and relatively painless process. It begins by cleansing your skin. Then, applying a numbing cream, allowing it to sit for 10 to 15 minutes before removing it. This step helps minimize any potential discomfort.
From there, I will turn on the Procell™ device and stamp it gently across the skin. The treatment tips are interchangeable, allowing for a customized session. After treating a section of your face, I will apply the Livra Microchannel Delivery Solution. This serum contains healing elements that soothe inflammation, such as hyaluronic acid, Stem Cytokines™, and other naturally occurring ingredients found in the skin.
